I must apologize for my absence in the blogging world! I have been so busy with getting into the kindergarten routine! I have missed reading all of your awesome posts.
This week, my little sweeties and I read The Wheels on the Bus. They LOVED it! We sang it, we added motions, we practiced retelling the story. I wanted to add a little practice with our fine motor skills, so I created this cute little bus craftivity.
This bus was the finished product from one of my cuties. It was very simple to make. I created a bus template and copied it onto yellow paper. The kids cut it out. I cut out wheels (circles are hard for them to cut!), and they cut out my window templates. They also added characters from the book into the windows. I let them try out colored pencils and they were so excited for a break from the jumbo crayons! I heard over and over how fun this activity was, and they couldn't believe it was our reading time! I reminded them that we were doing a response to our story from the week. If you wanted to try this craft, you might want to add pipe cleaner wipers. I considered it, but ultimately just ran out of prep time. If you can use this activity, email or leave a comment and I'd be happy to scan and email the templates I used!
Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
